For the first half of the summer term, we will be learning about plants and what they need to grow.

We will be thinking and learning about:

History

We will be learning about the life of Florence Nightingale, as a significant individual who has contributed to national and international achievements and was active in our locality.

English: We will be writing simple sentences and learning about what makes a good sentence, including adding capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. We will also be adding adjectives and conjunctions into our sentences as well as similes. We will be discovering different genres of writing through the Percy the Park keeper stories.

Phonics: We will have daily phonics lessons and follow the Twinkl phonics programme. We will be continuing to learn level 5 and focusing on applying the phonemes we know in our reading. In our phonics lessons, we will learn a sound, practise reading and writing it and then apply it by reading a sentence or set of words.
